Welcome to Big Sky ASHRAE Chapter 131

ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is a global fellowship dedicating to improving well-being through sustainable and ethical technology functional in today’s infrastructure. Our chapters across the country are focused on creating and implementing building systems, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, refrigeration and sustainability within the industry. We encourage research, continued education, standards development, and consistent publication among our members, with the goal of shaping a positive future and environment today.

Chapter 131 is made up of two sections, Billings and Bozeman. We encourage networking with other industry professionals, as well as volunteering. Big Sky ASHRAE seeks and embraces collaborative efforts with organizations, agencies, and individuals sharing our commitment to sustainable built environments.

2020-21 ASHRAE Society Theme

ASHRAE President, Charles E. Gulledge III, has chosen “The ASHRAE Digital Lighthouse and Industry 4.0” as the theme of this year. “Why should we engage in digital transformation? To gain a competitive advantage amongst our peers, position ourselves as the go-to resource for clients, improve margins, provide greater value, and attract and retain a digitally skilled workforce… Digital transformation is not simply associated with adopting new technical solutions. Knowledge needs to be captured and linked in such a way that ALL relevant stakeholders’ benefit. Doing so requires understanding of how to collect, store, and analyze data; so that it is insightful and actionable.”
